Policy about disciplinary actions at
the marathon
We assume that each participant has
read and understood the basic regulations and the additional
regulations for the RAAM qualification (can be found in
the internet, the invitation to the competition and the
announcement board at the start).
Commissioners
- The commissioners accompany
the participants, especially the elite and the RAAM
qualificants and make sure that the the
regulations and the traffic rules will be respected.
- Violation of rules of accompaning vehicles
will provoke punishment of the participant.
- Commissioners have the right to
exhort, admonish or disqualify the participant.
- They have the right to stop the
participant and/or the accompaning vehicle.
- Admonities will cause a time punishment of
30 minutes.
- Disqualification will cause the
immediate exclusion of the tour. Who as a RAAM
qualificant is disqualified because of drafting or who
renounces by his own decision on RAAM qualification will
still be allowed to go on in the elite category. If he
reaches the finish line he will be denominated finisher
over 600 km, but he will not get the RAAM quaification (DNF).
- The commissioners report their decisions
to the jury.
- Against a decision of the commissioners
can be lodged an appeal to the jury.
- The staff of the car who makes the
last check is also considered commissioners. It
has the right to disqualify participants who exceed the
cut off time.
Protests
- If you notice a violation of rules against
other participants you can enter a protest at the next
checkpoint or, if possible, inform a commissioner. You
have to indicate the place and time of the violation as
well as the starting number of the accused participant.
The commissioner will note the protests and verify their
accuracy as soon as possible. The checkpoint will note
the protests and forward them to the jury and to the
closest commissioner.
- If after finishing the race you insist on
the previously entered protest or if you want to protest
against a decision of the commissioners you have to
submit immediately a written protest containing all
necessary details with the jury. A protest charge
of SFr 150.- or Euro 100.- will have to be deposited.
This charge can be refunded if the protest will be
entirely or partwise approved by the jury.
- Protestes against other
participants which have not been entered during the race
(according to point one ot thes paragraph) can not be
taken into consideration.
The jury
- The jury consists of the president of the
organization, the tour coordinator, the race director and
if necessary the commissioner.
- After having talked to all the people
involved in the case, the jury will take a decision
within two hours and hand over a written report to the
people involved.
- The jury can also issue subsequent
disciplinary actions based on police reports turned in
with a delay.
- Decisions taken by the jury are
definitive.
