Additional regulations for "Brevets de Randonneurs Mondiaux"

Basic regulations
The main regulations are also in force for the participants of "Brevets des Randonneurs Mondiaux". The additional regulations are the following ones.

Support Vehicles
At the Brevets support vehicles are frowned upon. Therefore support vehicles must drive directly from checkpoint to checkpoint; if possible on an alternative route. To help or support the rider out of the support vehicle except at the checkpoints is strictly forbidden.. A qualifier who gets help or support out of a support vehicle outside the checkpoints will be disqualified for the brevet immediatly.

Check-Cards
The brevet qualifiers get a special check-card. This check-card has to be shown together with the roadbook at checkpoint to get a stamp and to add the passing time. If the check-card gets lost or is not completed the brevet can't gained.

Time Limits
For the brevet special time limits are in force. The time limits are 40 hours for 600 kms and 20 hours for 300 kms.
For 300 kms the earliest starting time is 4 a.m. and the latest arrival time will be 12 p.m.
Those who want actually start so early are asked to mention it on the entry form! It is important to remember that the checkpoint opening hours are fixed. The starting time must therefore fit to the estimated speed.

Medals
Participants who want to get a medal from the Audax Club Parisien have to mention this when returning thecheck-card. The medals will be sent by post. The medals are charged separately. The current price is SFr 9.00.

"Super Randonneur"
The “super randonneur” is a person who has made within one year all the brevets for 200, 300, 400 and 600 km according to the Audax Club Parisien. If he so wishes he can obtain a special medal.
In order to be authorized to take part in the 1200 km brevets (like e.g. Paris-Brest-Paris) one has to have absolved the 200, 300, 400 and 600 km within one year. This qualification is only valid within the respective calendar year.

Further regulations
The participation for the brevet has to be announced with the registration (Brevet de Randonneur Mondiaux), so that it is possibleto order the necessary documents in time. Registration for the brevet at the event will not be accepted.
